random thoughts...that's a unique title isn't it? :7

Today in FL the jury came back with a not guilty verdict for a young woman who's 2 year old daughter died.  I don't know much of anything about the case, in fact, I know nothing.  I read my 1st article about the case when the news about the verdict came out on the newswire.  From the article I read, it appears as if Ms. Anthony made up some crazy story about her daughter being murdered, mouth duct taped and dumped in woods.  Something about her father involved in helping hide the little girl's body.  And part of the story was that she drown in her grandparent's pool while mother was suppose to be watching her.  It all sounds very bizarre and crazy and a bit of a  psychologically imbalanced mother.  There were a lot of lies on the mother's part, she was seen out bar hopping or partying, getting tatooed, days after the daughter died.  Crazy ass shit.  I don't know what really happened except that the little girl is dead and a family has been destroyed and that's all very sad...
Compared to all of  that, we're all doing well and are blessed.  Blessed, what exactly does that mean?  That God has blessed you?  How does God bless you?  Giving you gifts, allowing you have opportunities in which to make lots of money, keeping everyone you love healthy.  That all sounds like way more "power" (for lack of a better word) than God really wants, needs or should have.  I think God's power (again with the lack of...) lies in our ability to think freely and make up our own minds about actions, feelings and thoughts.  God's role in our lives, if you believe, is be our moral compass, our moral guide, our conscience, if you will.  God doesn't really give you things, or give your children good health or give you great relationships to partake in and feel love(d).  God helps guide your way through all of those things, feelings and situations...doesn't she?
